I just saw Captain America : The Winter Soldier and I just realized….
Peggy Carter helped found SHIELD after Steve “died”.
It was founded at the camp that Steve trained at.
On marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, Agent Ward says “Someone really wanted our initials to spell SHIELD”
Peggy created and named the entire spy organization after STEVE’S SHIELD.
OH MY FREAKING GOD.
how much money do they pay the models in stock photos

Disney one-liners we never forget.
I will forever reblog
next time someone tells you Muslim countries oppress women, let them know Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Turkey, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, and Senegal have all had female Presidents or Prime Ministers and 1/3rd of Egypt’s parliament is female but the US has yet to even have a female vice president and can’t say “vagina” when discussing female reproductive rights
#I just let out the most embarrassing goddamn sound #this is everything I have ever wanted from Bucky #polar opposite to Cap’s fighting style which is all stand your ground #plant your feet #raise your shield #take the bullet #(‘no. you move.’) #Bucky is constantly ducking and twisting#slipping in the spaces between bullets #finding an opening in the air big enough to force his body into #and if there is no opening then by god he’ll carve one out. #Bucky fights like he wants to take the world by the throat and /squeeze/. How did Tumblr miss this joke?
'I'm with you until the end of the line.'
//Look at the body language in that 7th gif. That’s the stance of a victor. That’s the straightest he’s ever stood in the whole movie—and his saunter as he parts from Steve. He is resentful in the previous gifs, as he holds a grudge against anything or anyone that might suggest he’s a victim, because the character that was Bucky’s is still there: that pride. He doesn’t want to be a victim, he wants to be strong. He believed Pierce when he told him he shaped the century because Pierce knew how to appeal to that pride, the soldier in him that wanted to do the best thing for his superiors. But that fragment of Bucky expands when Steve calls to him—Steven recognises him, and that piece of Bucky in him is fighting to the surface. He doesn’t want to be a victim, but the longing to be who he was overcomes that pride. And in the seventh gif really shapes that: how he may not admit fully to himself that he’s a victim of torture and manipulation and the horror of other things he can’t remember, but he admits that this is his decision. His first decision on his own was to save a life that he didn’t have to save as The Winter Soldier, that assassin. But that pride comes out again, it’s uncaged, it’s healthy, and there’s something about it that feels strange, but it feels good. And so he leaves, because he doesn’t know what else to do and he feels awkward enough as it is, but he knows that he’s free. He may not want to admit that he’s a victim, but he knows that there’s something different now even if he doesn’t know what to do with himself.
I really love how he is carrying him out of the water. The way he drags him and drops him with such detachment. Because at this point he doesn’t really know who Steve is, he just knows that he probably should and that Steve knows him. The way he looks at him up and down as if wondering why he even made the choice to save his life and surprised that he could make that choice in the first place. Because up to this point, all of his decisions had been done for him. There is a lot of pain and anger there and at the same time, he doesn’t fully understand the reason behind those feelings. His whole existence has been leading to this moment, and now the fruit of all that work is crashing and burning all around him. There is no HYDRA to go back to. No scientists. No Pierce give him the comfort that what has been happening to him has been for a reason. Yes, comfort, because this whole time, Pierce has been his one and only connection. Granted, it was an abusive one, but it was there. And now there is this man, Steve. Who called him a friend. I read this somewhere that after so many years of being manipulated and lied to, that Bucky feels the need to discover the truth for himself instead of waiting around and asking Steve about it. Because it’s not up to Steve. Because he has to be able to stand on his own two feet and find out who he was first and find a way to process all that information before he can face Steve again. I never thought about the way he stands here, that soldier pride and how after so many years of being victimized he probably feels uncomfortable. Like a prisoner who has been inside for too long and is finally getting out. There is fear because he hasn’t been living in the world for a long time and he doesn’t recognize it or knows his place in it. Bucky doesn’t know his place in the world if he is not carrying out a mission. So this is his mission now. To find out who Bucky Barnes was and put the pieces of his broken self back together.
#this #THIS #sigh this is a man who has no regard for himself or his own safety#this is a man who’s body moves because it’s a necessity#because his survival is important for the mission#there is no hurry; there is no concern; there is no fear #cold #calculated#contained and weaponized #when is a body not a body#when it’s a goddamn bomb#someone get me a basket for my sebastian stan as winter soldier feelings
